Hello

Here is my newest Kipchak style helmet by me

http://photofile.name/users/nieczar/2547324/82644971/

It's not exactly replica of oryginal stuff - just some variation about. The basic stuff is the helmet and the mask from Kuban River area .Present day the helmet is in Herman Historika and the mask is in private colection somewhere.
Off course it's welded stuff ...I'm still waiting for raised helmet and mask - but I'm afraid the price could be to high for most of the customers ...maybe someday ...

Next "lichina" will be done this month yet

:-) I like always the precision of the chiseling around the relieves and the embossing.
This kind of helmet in one piece...a little bit longer..;-) and perhaps longer than a bassinet...
Well..I'm still a great fan of your job!

thanx Marcos

yeah, one piece this kind of conical helmet ,epessialy with 10 cm long the pike it must be longer and harder work ...bacinet has spherical (+) profile of the whole shape and lichina-helmet it's (-) concave profile and with the pike it's very concave

... maybe soon I'll show the result of my experiment ...but I don't say any more right now

Lalaman ,thank You

it's probobly sec.half of 13th. cen. or first half 14th. cen.
this kind of the helmet was popular between 12-14th. cen.
...in later periods the shape of the helmet was changed, and the mask has other kind of the hinge ...and was without bronze/brass ears

generaly, the kind of the mask with moustaches was popular until 18th. cen. (Kaukas area) in very similar style
