Hi everyone.
Today I will write only in English, because me and Thorkil are very busy before our trip in July. Here are 2 of our newest helmets.

Helmet based on find from Gorzuchy in Poland.
1) hand-forged, as always
2) 4 plates riveted together
3) spring steel hot-forged on charcoal; front and back plates 1,5mm and side plates - 2mm steel; top of the helmet -
4) decoration of brass and copper
5) at the top and sides of the helmet - engraved motives
6) finishing - graphite mat

The helmet isn't strict replica. Original helmet has gilded copper plates riveted on iron bowl. But that was customer's wish.

You will find there more photos together with photos of original helmet.

Valsgarde 6 helmet

1) hand-forged as usual
2) steel construction forged of 1,5mm steel stripes
3) decoration of brass and silver
4) pressed-blech panels pressed in silver plate (930 essay)
5) motives on those panels like on original helmet
6) lovely riveted aventail with fringe of brass rings made by Jerzy Sabat from Sanok in Poland

P.S. I am not sure if we can put so many photos in one post....
I only can show here photos from our site, which are big photos. I can't post here photos from our computer since long time. :( I don't know why... Does anyone see a picture here? cause I can't. :(

Joliii !

Thanks for compliments, Guys.

Medieviste - yes, he makes his chain mails by hands. And yes, we also love his work! :)

I am not sure, if I have understood you well, but I will try to answer. We've spoken to him about forge welding rings. He didn't try this yet. But Thorkil has tried! And he has forged few rings. So, it is possible, but it's difficult, so chain mail made this way would be very expensive.
Does anyone in the world makes chain mails with forge welding?

Gracjana.

C'est même plus drôle là!
Thorkil tu repousse les limites de la perfection pour chacune de tes réalisations.

Thanks, Eivind. I will write you the same, as to Saint Denis. Thorkil is still learning and developing his skills. And he will not stop doing this, because he really loves his work.
