Hi everyone.
It has been a long time since our last post, here, but we are really busy, believe me.
I promised to put here new helmet made by Thorkil, so here they are. They were made some time ago, but I think not many of you have already seen them. Soon there are going to be next very interesting helmets : Late Roman helmet called Berkasovo2, Swiss klappenvisier bascinet raised of one piece, Valsgaarde 6 helmet, salet, Gulbishche helmet, Churburg amrs... I will try to find some time to put them here.
First helmet :
Replica of helmet found in Korolewino, near Tagancha (Tachańcza), Russia. It is dated to 12th-13th cent. You can see it in Warsaw museum.
The helmet isn't strict reconstruction, as original helmet was richly decorated with silver and copper. This is simpler version.
Helmet has been hand-forged, as usual.
Steel - our standard for helmets - 2mm medium-carbon steel, so not that soft mild steel.
Electrical welded.
Forehead plate has been made of 2mm brass plate. Edging of this plate is made of copper wire and it has silver rivets (like original helmet has).
I am attaching one photo of it.

Rest photos of replica, as well as photos of original helmets, you can find here : http://www.thorkil.ovh.org/tahancza_eng.htm
Replica of helmet from Gnezdovo burial mound, Russia. Helmet is dated for IX-Xth cent.
It has been hand-forged, as all our helmets.
Steel - our standard : 2mm medium-carbon.
Brass plate for decoration - 1,5mm.
And a plumer.
I am attaching one photo of it.

Rest photos of replica, as well as photos of original helmets, you can find here :
http://www.thorkil.ovh.org/gnezdovo_eng.htm
And the last - second version of Vendel 1 helmet.
As, always, hand-forged, standard steel - 2mm, medium-carbon.
Decorative panels pressed in 0,25mm silver plate (assay 930).
Crest and eye-brows has been casted of brass by our caster.
Strips and edging made of brass.
Motives on decorated plates are exactly like on original helmet.
I am attaching one photo of it.

Rest photos of replica, as well as photos of original helmets, you can find here :

Feel free to comment. Any suggestion are welcome.
Best wishes from Krosno, Poland,
Gracjana and Thorkil.
P.S. If photos are too big, please, let me know I will change it.
