I apologise for not replying sooner, but we were very busy and we haven't noticed your question, before, Damianus...

I think Robert has explained it all on other forum, but I will answer.

Cheek-pieces are attached on 2 pieces of leather. There should be a hinge in front of cheek-piece, but when I tried to do it, the hinge was blocking the movement of cheeks. So I choose better movement, so as Rodoric could easily put his helmet on his head.

The helmet isn't perfect reconstruction (it also should have leather on the rim, as Robert told us), but we are really proud of it.

est-ce que les peintures sur casques se faisaient en ce temps là ?

les casques de parade étaient recouverts d'or (comme celui du Musée de Leiden actuellement à Venise en expo) ou de laiton et de décorations. en laiton il peut servir au combat.
Je ne sais pas si des casques étaient peints. Damien G doit sortir un livre sur les casques de cette époque et je peux lui demander si il y a avait un usage à faire des peintures (Romains et Germains) sur les casques.
Damianus peut aussi répondre sur ce sujet.

yes i'm proud of it too. it is a very nice reconstruction very closed what was a real ''berkasovo II''. it is also a helmet for exhibition with Herculiani (like in June in march) and you are right to do it as a helmet not wear and to do demonstration
